Jodi came to nutrition in a roundabout way. After receiving her undergraduate degree from Duke University and planning to attend medical school, she decided to enter the business world and begin her career as an investment banker at UBS in New York City. "A typical day while I was banking meant working 15 hours a day, eating takeout for every meal and walking no further than the water fountain. After a month I felt horrible. After six months I had gained 20 pounds." She abandoned banking to work for a well-known head-hunter, knowing the additional time would allow her a healthier lifestyle, a pursuit that shortly thereafter led her to abandon the business world altogether and pursue her true passion, nutrition.

Eager to help those who were seeking a healthy nutritional make over, she found herself back in the business world providing nutrition counseling and healthy lunch alternatives to traders on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Jodi has spent the majority of her time in the nutrition field helping individuals lose weight and maintain it. She has been involved in the National Institutes of Health sponsored weight loss study at St. Luke's Obesity Research Center as well as an intern at Green Mountain at Fox Run, a weight loss facility in Vermont. Jodi has helped lead a weight loss class at Mt. Sinai Hospital entitled "Winning by Losing" which focuses on healthy eating, behavior modification and exercise. She has also led a weight management support group for individuals that have reached their target goal, but need continuing support to maintain it. Jodi was also a contributing researcher to Dr. Lisa Young's recently published book The Portion Teller: Smartsize Your Way to Permanent Weight Loss. Jodi also spent several semesters as a teaching assistant at NYU teaching classes such as understanding food labels and managing nutrition during pregnancy. Currently, Jodi resides in Manhattan.

Jodi graduated cum laude from Duke University with a B.S. in Biology. Jodi received her Master's in Nutrition and Dietetics from NYU and completed her internship at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Jodi is also a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN). She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, Nutrition Entrepreneurs and the Greater New York Dietetic Association.
